Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Vocalist Studio (the "Service"), available at vocaliststudio.app and the associated web app. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Vocalist Studio is a browser-based vocal training tool that provides warm-ups, exercises, scales, pitch detection, recording, and related features. A free tier is available to anyone; certain features ("Pro features") are unlocked by a one-time payment.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code beyond what is publicly delivered to your browser.
Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Pro unlock to anyone else.
Attempt to circumvent the Pro paywall or interfere with the operation of the Service.

3. Pro purchase, license, and refunds

Price: Vocalist Studio Pro is offered at a one-time price displayed at checkout (currently US$7.99). Taxes may be added depending on your jurisdiction.
License: Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the Pro features of Vocalist Studio on the device from which the purchase was completed.
Per-device unlock: Because the App stores no central account, your Pro unlock is tied to the device used at checkout. If you change devices or clear your browser's storage, contact us with your Stripe receipt and we will restore your unlock.
Refund policy: We offer a no-questions-asked refund within 14 days of purchase. To request a refund, email Theblackman347@aol.com with your Stripe receipt. Refunds are issued through Stripe to your original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on your bank.
Chargebacks: We monitor chargebacks. If you have a problem with your purchase, please email us first — we respond fast and almost always issue a refund without dispute.

4. Microphone, recordings, and your content

The App may request microphone access. All audio is processed locally in your browser; voice recordings you save are stored only on your device. You retain all rights to recordings you make with the App.

5. Intellectual property

All software, design, and content of the Service (other than your own recordings and custom exercises) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. The piano samples are sourced from Yamaha; the Tone.js library and other open-source dependencies are used under their respective licenses.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any vocal exercise will produce a specific result. Vocal training carries an inherent risk of strain or injury if performed incorrectly — consult a qualified vocal coach or medical professional if you experience discomfort.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given our pricing, is at most US$7.99). We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms. Your local data and any past purchases are unaffected by termination of website access.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
